Zinc anodes are specifically manufactured and designed by ADVANCE ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS to meet the unique needs and requirements of cathodic protection systems to prevent the corrosion of metal structures, such as boats, ships, offshore structures, and pipelines. They are made of high-purity zinc and work by corroding sacrificially in place of the metal structure they are protecting. When the metal structure is exposed to a corrosive environment, such as saltwater, an electrical current flows between the anode and the metal structure. This current causes the zinc anode to corrode, protecting the metal structure from corrosion. This sacrificial corrosion process prolongs the life of the metal structure by preventing it from corroding. Zinc anodes are commonly used in marine environments, where the high salinity and corrosive nature of seawater can cause rapid corrosion of metal structures. They are available in various shapes and sizes, such as rods, plates, and hull anodes, to fit different applications and structures. Zinc anodes require periodic inspection and replacement as they corrode over time. The rate of corrosion depends on various factors such as the environment, water temperature, and the size of the anode the engineering design and dimensions are customizable as per client requirements.
